Renewal by Andersen of Long Island is proud of our heritage. Over the years, our parent company, Andersen Corporation has consistently lead the window industry with ingenuity and innovation. Our goal is to provide our customers access to high-quality replacement window and patio door products that help them save time and money. But, we’re also concerned about comfort, convenience, protecting the environment and ensuring that our replacement windows add value in other areas beyond saving money and protecting the value of your property.
As part of our policy to deliver value-added products, we capitalize on every opportunity to create high-performance windows and patio doors that:
Here are just a few of the ways we help homeowners curb their environmental footprint and save time and money.
At Renewal by Andersen of Long Island, we understand how busy life can be. We’re always looking for ways to help homeowners spend less of their hard earned money on utility bills and less of their energy taking care of their home. That’s why our solutions team invested time and money to design windows that make cleaning and maintenance less labor intensive, safer and more convenient for our customers. Tilt-in double-hung replacement windows and side-hinged casement windows allow you to clean both the inside and outside glass surfaces from inside your home. No more running back and forth to get that last streak or speck of dirt off the otherwise crystal clear glass. Other designs, such as sliding patio doors and gliding windows are assembled so you can easily remove each panel for cleaning.
Frame and trim solutions virtually eliminate annual scraping, repairing and repainting. Factory finished Fibrex® trim and frames never require repainting and are guaranteed to remain mold and mildew free. Plus, they won’t rot, leak, droop or develop gaps that could allow air and moisture to infiltrate your home.
While we work hard to make sure you don’t have to spend so much energy maintaining your home, we’re also always looking for innovative solutions that allow you to curb your energy consumption. It’s our goal to develop and deliver new products that serve our customers today and for the future.
Although each replacement window and patio door is custom built to precisely fit the opening left when we remove the old windows from your home, some standards apply to every window, regardless of size or shape. We only use high-performance ENERGY-STAR certified glass options. This means you’ll have access to a variety of glass options that will enable you to reduce your energy consumption and save money on your utility bills, which also helps protect the environment. But, saving money isn’t enough. Our glass options allow you to control visible light that comes into your home without reducing the quality of your view. You may want more privacy than traditional glass offers so, we have four patterned glass options as well.
With patterned glass, you still have plenty of natural light, but no one outside your home can see indoors. There are options for extra-sturdy glass and glass to reduce UV light transfer that could damage carpet or upholstery.
Bottom line, our value-added glass features allow homeowners to fine-tune their environment for comfort, convenience and affordability.
Environmental impact is a primary influence on our manufacturing processes and construction material choices. Andersen Windows is working on product labeling standards for the window industry. We hope that by helping to set rigorous standards for replacement windows, everyone will benefit, even if they buy replacement products from another company (although, of course, we hope you choose to install our windows in your Long Island home.)
These standards, when fully implemented, will provide information to consumers about our products throughout the life cycle from harvesting and transporting wood, to reclamation of construction materials from the factory floor. Our goal is higher accountability through transparency. Our sustainability policies aren’t new. More than 100 years ago, Andersen Corporation introduced a “two-bundle” method of designing and shipping frames. This efficient process allowed dealers to deliver windows faster and more efficiently. And, in 1928, Andersen introduced a virtually leak-proof Locked Sill Joint that reduced conditioned air loss and reduced energy consumption. When Andersen introduced horizontal gliders in 1940, fewer windows broke due to wind pressure, reducing landfill wastes, and saving homeowners money.
It isn’t enough to manufacture and deliver replacement windows that are “just” ENERGY STAR certified as energy efficient. Renewal by Andersen of Long Island wants every homeowner we serve to also enjoy as many benefits as technology and innovation allow. We’re committed to helping you save money, time and resources while improving your comfort and peace of mind that you’re getting the highest return on investment possible.
