Easter is already upon us, in fact, it is a mere 2 weeks after St. Patrick’s Day. So if you are looking for a simple Easter decoration that can go up fast after you get your St. Patrick’s Day decorations down look no further.
Supplies for this Vintage Easter Window
To create this easy to display Easter decoration you will need:
To Start Your New Vintage Easter Window
With this particular decoration you will need to have the old window you are using pristine clean. This means the glass needs to be cleaned up, and the frame needs to be sanded down and painted white. The clean, white frame is just as important as the rest of what you are going to be adding to this decoration as it represents the newness of spring.
Using Easter Cards on Vintage Windows
After you have your frame ready, take the vintage cards and attach them in the glass panes of the windows so that the card is behind the glass. You can do this with double sided tape or craft glue that dries clear. You want to use as large of vintage cards as will fit in the pane to cover as much of the glass as possible. If you have too much glass showing between the card and the frame you will be able to see through to what is behind the window, and it may take away from the effect.
If your windows are larger than your glass pane, you can attach the card behind the glass to the frame instead.
Once you are done, hang your new Easter window décor on the wall and enjoy for the holiday. After the holiday, simply store in a safe place where the glass won’t break, and then you can hang it up again next year.
Painting Vintage Windows
Vintage windows are also fun to paint on. The grilles between the glass panes give the painting a fun personality that adds to the Easter decoration.
On the glass, depending on your artistic ability, you can paint words, Easter egg, Easter bunnies, holiday religious symbols, or even just spring flowers. You are really only limited by your imagination as to what you can create for Easter décor from vintage windows.
